Instead of minimum member, maximum member etc etc for our number of posts, how about if there were Beatle-related names instead?
Such as (just an example): 0001-0050 - A Beginning 0051-0250 - Mean Mr Mustard 0251-1000 - Getting Better 1001+ That Means a Lot 10000+ - Sun King (and maybe these members could get a special colour)
I saw a forum once doing something similar. They had something in orders like:
Monkee - 0-25 posts Fool On The Hill - 25-50 Little Child 50 -100 Apple Scruff - 100-150 Nowhere Man 150-200 Day Tripper 200-500 Rocky Raccoon Wild Honey Pie Mr Moonlight Dr Robert Taxman
etcetera. Must say I find it a bit boring. I like Alan's idea using songtitles in a more abstract way. The gap between 1000+ to 10000+ is somewhat big.
Nice idea.I agree with Bobber in the '1000+ to 10000+' because there are many members with those numbers.So I would be a Mean Mr Mustard heheheh.I like the song.

This sounds like members who are just getting started are somehow inferior. One of the things I treasure about this board is how welcoming everyone is, so I think the level names should reflect that. Happy, welcoming names suitable for each level of posting. How's that for an assignment? Cheers.

Some great name suggestions there!
The idea behind my numbering system was that I thought it would be good if new members were encouraged to attain certain new levels quickly then as they become loyal members (hopefully) they would still have benchmarks to achieve. I also thought it would be good if some of our longest serving members still had something to aim for which is why I included the 10,000+ mark as some people are already approaching that number (and one has already passed it). At the moment it seems like you achieve 'maximum member' status really quickly and then that's how you stay forever.
Just an idea to make things a bit more interesting
They're now called 'baby member'. I tried to get rid of that asap. Then I became 'minimum member'. That's not very flattering either.
True! I'm all for changing it, just suggesting we find something pretty friendly.

How about...
0001-0050 - A Beginning - because for new members it IS a beginning 0051-0250 - Getting Better - after 50 posts the new member should be settling into forum life quite nicely so it really is "getting better all the time..." 0251-1000 - Words Of Love - after 250 posts many words of love (probably!) would have been shared with the forum. 1001+ That Means a Lot - because 1001 posts really IS a lot! 10000+ - Sun King - The king of posters... plus a special member colour perhaps?
