There's a couple of things most Beatle Fans realize about situations like this:
*John Lennon is notoriously unreliable about historical matters. Contradictions abound. *In 1980, especially, the Lennons were "hyping" their return to recording with a lot of nonsense. They were prepared to paint rosy pictures: househusbanding, no more animosities in Beatle-land, yadda yadda. *Paul McCartney is not above putting the favorable spin on a story.
But the facts remain. Paul McCartney didn't - DID NOT - play on "I'm The Greatest".
First of all,if was David Sheff who also understood this to be the case, and as I said before paul confirms this in a latter interveiw...and wtf am I still posting here for?
To the guy or gal that started this thread asking for help,I hope we have been of service to you,I'm the Greatest set aside,"Ringo Starr" the Album is still a good one to get,all for Beatles do participate in the making of it...and please Ydoll if you dont agree with me,I dont care!!!!

Ringo is a great album that it's just plain fun. Ringo had a great time making it, and the music is the best from top to bottom on any solo album he's ever had. The three bonus tracks at the end make it even better. There's a reason why it's his best selling solo album. It peaked at number two in the charts. What was the number one album keeping it out of the top spot?
It's also great that all four guys appear on the album, although only three did appear on "I'm The Greatest."

Good post, but your last line makes me think I'm being drawn into a cult,I feel though interviews this mystery is solved, but should I ever agree with you,I would probably have to sell everything I own,and send all my money to The Great leader Ydoll,I'M SURE HE WONT DO THE KOOLAID THING,HES MORE OF AN APPLE-SAUCE GUY...LOL
Everybody knows that if Paul played anything on the track I'm The Greatest the whole world would have known about it back in 1973 when Ringo came out.
You know how huge that would have been? That would have been the only track after Let It Be was released in 1970 that featured all four guys on the same song together. The whole world would have began to think that maybe the Beatles were getting back together again and the hype surrounding that track would have been unreal.
This track is still monumental as it did feature three Beatles on the same track, and that was as close as a Beatles reunion we got. As was said earlier, Paul was willing to be apart of the I'm The Greatest session, but he had US Visa problems at the time.
John and Ringo played together some, ala John Lennon/Plastic Ono Band, and the fact that John would write songs for Ringo during his solo career and would play on the tracks showed a bond was still there. John and George played together some, ala Imagine.
George and Ringo always were playing together on each others albums and writing music together as they were really really really close friends. But sadly, all four guys never recorded a track together after the breakup.
Paul and Ringo did play together some as Paul wrote songs for Ringo, ie Six O'Clock, and played on this albums as he did on Ringo. However the bond between the four of them as gone at that moment in time.
As Ringo said in his song Early 1970, he wonders if Paul will play with him, he knows John will, and George is always playing with him, but when he goes to town he wants to see all three. Sadly, it just never happend.

Even when you're attempting to be nice, you have to get a dig in. The last sentence-why? You must care if you're going to put in a completely unnecessary barb. I think you doth protest too much. Plus, with your seemingly marginal Beatle knowledge coupled with your vitriol, you will be chewed up and spat out in no time.
