What is your most prized Beatle-related possession? Got a really rare LP? An autograph? A priceless memory?

What you got?!

Nothing great. I have a 45' with 'I Want to Hold Your Hand' and 'I Saw Her Standing There' on a orange and yellow swirl Capital label that doesnt skip (worth nothing i'm sure), A 62' to 66' double red album on the apple label that doesnt skip (again, worth nothing), White Album in which the vinyl is white and the inner label is a maroon Capital logo (I know), a 60's style radio with the speaker cover showing the Beatles as if they were on the 'With the Beatles' cover, a 67' to 70' double blue album with blue vinyl and a blue Capital logo, a bubble bath Ringo character in which the paint is flaking on his head, and thats about it.

I'm not into collectibles much, as I value the music above anything else.

However the memory of going to a Macca press conference is one; my other is interviewing Yoko (with picture to prove it).

Otherwise the usual boots and such.

My framed photograph of John Lennon on the set of "How I Won The War." My parents got me it for Christmas years ago. They bought it at a store called "Jolly British Imports" (something like that.)

And the White Album and Sgt Pepper's vinyls my Dad let me have. He bought them when my parents lived in Northern Ireland. He wasn't really much of a Beatles fan and let me have them when I asked for them two years ago.

I'd love to read your interview and see that pic! What are the chances?

Very nice.  Very open and friendly.

I didn't know I'd be meeting her, and I'd been up since 5am and it was a Sunday so I was dressed pretty sloppily.  Still....

First I met Elliott Mintz (who I didn't know) who scanned my face for every FBI poster he'd ever seen, then talked to Yoko.  I only had two minutes, but when I got up to go she started talking to me again, so I re-sat down.

I asked her about the art prices (which I thought were very reasonable for Lennon originals) and she dismissed it with 'that's the gallery who sets those'.

After that we just kind of chatted...she talked about how John and her loved the Monterey (CA USA) area and Carmel (where we were), I talked about how they lived a block from me 7 years earlier in another nearby town but I didn't know it then....small talk, really.

As I was getting up to leave a photographer asked if I'd like a picture....WOULD I?  So I sat down AGAIN and we faced the camera, a nice pose.  He said no, act like you're talking to each other.  So I turned and just said the first thing that came to me, which was 'thank you again, lovely meeting you, etc.' and I instinctively stuck out my hand.  She shook it without hesitation...and you HAVE to know how hard that was for her...not only was I a stranger, but clearly devoid of great hygiene that day and plus I think contact spooks her anyway.

The picture looks as if she is looking at my hand like a plate full of leeches (and perhaps in that nano-second she was) but I never noticed at the time.

Really, she was quite lovely to talk to.

Hey neighbor, I remember when Yoko's collection of John's art was in town (San Jose).  This was a few years back.  I wish I had the money to buy a few pieces.  Anyway, I personally prize all of my Beatles collections.  Everyone at work can tell I'm a Beatle fan by the posters up on my wall.
