End of European Song Cup in the Casino at the Belgium coastal resort of Knokke-le-Zoute. Brian attends. England beats France in the final. Roger Whittaker, with his version of `If I Were A Rich Man', is declared the best individual act.

Paul attends a session at Chappell Recording Studios, during which Chris Barber Band records a version for `Catcall'. Paul contributes shouts and howls, and some piano.

London `The Times' publishes an advertisement signed by the Beatles, Epstein and other famous personalities, calling for the legalization of marijuana.

The Beatles appear on front cover of magazine `Life' (Asia Edition), with the headline: `The New Far-Out Beatles'.

Brian writes to Nat Weiss. Subjects: Brian's father recent death, the Beatles, including their project to buy a Greek island, and his next trip to New York (a trip he never took-it was planned for 2 September 1967).
